Kyrgyz-Hungarian Business Forum held in Budapest

Bishkek, June 16, 2022. /Kabar/. The Kyrgyz-Hungarian Business Forum entitled “Kyrgyz-Hungarian Economic Cooperation” was held in Budapest, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Kyrgyz Ambassador to Hungary Talantbek Kushchubekov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Katalin Bihari greeted the forum participants.
In his opening remarks, Kushchubekov emphasized the importance of establishing direct contacts with representatives of the business community of Kyrgyzstan and Hungary. In turn, the deputy mnister of foreign affairs and trade of Hungary outlined the priority areas of cooperation, and noted the mutual desire to increase trade and economic cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
The forum was devoted to the launch of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, as well as the hydropower potential of Kyrgyzstan and the opportunities to invest in the construction of small and medium hydropower plants.
Director of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund Temirbek Erkinov addressed the forum, he spoke about the priority sectors of the economy and the conditions for obtaining funding from the Fund.
During the forum, the water potential of Kyrgyzstan was presented and information was provided on the opportunities for development of small and medium hydropower, conditions for construction of hydropower plants, legislation and regulations of the Kyrgyz Republic in this area and the payback period of hydro power plants.
The forum was attended by more than 40 Hungarian companies interested in cooperation with Kyrgyz partners in engineering, energy, agriculture, agricultural processing, fisheries, construction and other sectors of the economy.
