Kyrgyz delegation to take part in meeting of secretaries of SCO Security Council in Tashkent

Tashkent, Aug. 18, 2022 / Kabar /.The delegation of Kyrgyzstan headed by Secretary of the Security Council Marat Imankulov arrived in Tashkent on Wednesday to participate in a meeting of the Security Council of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), the press service of the Kyrgyz Embassy in Uzbekistan reported. The event is held within the framework of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO and is an important stage in preparation for the upcoming summit of heads of state in Samarkand. The meeting will be attended by the secretaries of the Security Councils of the member states and observer states, as well as representatives of the secretariat and executive committee of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS). In accordance with the agenda, issues of ensuring international and regional security, including countering terrorism, extremism, illegal arms and drug trafficking, as well as ensuring information security, will be considered. As part of the event, bilateral meetings with heads of delegations of partner countries are also planned. Meetings of the secretaries of the SCO Security Councils have been held since 2004 and are a coordinating and consultative mechanism for multilateral interaction.
