King hails Bahrain's participation in Milan Expo 2015

Manama, Nov.3 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa hailed Bahrain's remarkable participation in Milan Expo 2015, recently held in Italy. He commended the resounding success of Bahrain's pavilion which reflected the Kingdom's millennia-old history and humanitarian and cultural heritage.
This came as he received at Al-Safriya Palace Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa marking the Kingdom's landmark achievement in the global event. Bahrain clinched the silver medal for second best pavilion in the category of architecture, out of 150 countries which took part in the Milan Expo 2015.
HM the King congratulated BACA President hailing her dedicated efforts, along with the staff in charge of the pavilion, which ensured Bahrain's landmark performance that builds on the string of remarkable achievements.
He hailed the performance which, he said, proved the credentials of Bahrain's architecture to compete alongside other countries and consolidate its landmark string of achievements and merits.
HM the King congratulated (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa on choosing the City of Muharraq as Capital of Islamic Culture for 2018. He underscored the importance of participating in such high-profile exhibitions which, he said, provide a platform to build bridges of cooperation between states and peoples and promote Bahrain as a pioneering country which achieved economic, cultural and tourism strides.
Bahrain, he said, will always remain a beacon of tolerance, co-existence, amity and peace between all people, stressing the Kingdom's standing millennia-old civilisation and cultural radiation. HM the King commended the dedicated efforts of (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa to conserve Bahrain's history and civilisation and develop its archaeological sites.
BACA President extended deepest thanks to HM the King, hailing royal directives and continuous support to culture and heritage. She commended the string of landmark cultural achievements in the prosperous era of HM the King. She noted that Bahrain's pavilion in Milan Expo 2015 attracted more than 2.2 million visitors, pointing out that the pavilion would be showcased in Bahrain.
