Kazakhstan to observe "day of silence"

Kazakhstan, Astana, Jan. 14 / Trend L.Podolyak/ "Day of silence" kicked off in Kazakhstan on January 14. The election campaign of political parties ended on January 13 at 24 hours. The snap elections to the Majilis will be held in Kazakhstan this Sunday, Jan.15. The Nur Otan national-democratic party, Adilet, Kazakhstan Patriots' Party, Nationwide social-democratic party, Ak Zhol, Communist People's Party of Kazakhstan and the Kazakh Social Democratic Party Auyl are all taking part in the elections. 819 observers from eight international organizations and twenty-nine foreign countries to observe the elections. Also elections will be covered by 118 representatives of foreign mass media. The lower chamber of parliament consists of 107 people. 98 deputies elected on party lists, nine delegates elected by the Majilis of Assembly of People of Kazakhstan.
