Katara's First Traditional Dhow Exhibition Concluded

Doha, November 19 (QNA) - First Traditional Dhow Exhibition concluded on Saturday in Katara, where it was held for four days. HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani visited the exhibition on Thursday and toured its various booths. His Highness was briefed on the showcased dhows. HH the Emir also toured the department of craft and the marine and heritage tools gallery. The exhibition was the home for more than 60 kinds of traditional sailing boats present in the GCC. The exhibition also held concerts of traditional gulf music. In addition to children workshops and a series of lectures trade done by boats in the past. The expo also had a number of museums such as the museum of traditional sail boats. A number of competitions were also held, such as diving for pearls, which included the largest number of oysters award and the largest number of pearls. The exhibition also had a library that showed pictures and information on aquatic life during the past years in the GCC. (QNA)
