Katara, Chinese Embassy Discuss Cooperation

Doha, February 04 (QNA) - The General Manager of Katara Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti met today with China's Ambassador to Qatar Gao Yuchen, where they discussed prospects of cooperation between Katara and the Chinese Embassy in Doha. The meeting, as well, discussed developing joint programs to familiarize the people in Qatar with the Chinese culture. Al-Sulaiti welcomed the cooperation between the two sides pointing that it is consistent with Katara's role in establishing cultural relations with the world in general, and in particular with major countries in Asia and the Orient. He added that the meeting resulted in a number of agreements to improve cultural relations between the two countries. Al Sulaiti welcomed those agreements, saying that China was an important cultural destination nowadays. Katara will continue to provide a platform for intellectuals to meet and exchange cultural views, the General-Manager of Katara said. He added that Katara's strategy focuses on hosting events of other friendly countries, in order to convey their culture to the people in Qatar. (QNA)
