Jeenbekov to deliver video message at General Debate of 75th session of UN General Assembly

Bishkek, Sept. 23, 2020. /Kabar/. Address of Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov within the General Debate of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly will be broadcast today, Sept. 23 in New York. According to the president’s press service, in his speech Jeenbekov will focus on the measures taken in the country to develop the economy, social sector, promotion of reforms aimed at strengthening democratic institutions and society. Special attention will be paid to the situation in Kyrgyzstan caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Jeenbekov will also touch upon global issues such as strengthening international stability and security, countering terrorism and extremism. The Kyrgyz leader’s speech will be shown at the UN headquarters tonight. In the framework of the High-Level Week of the 75th anniversary session of the UN General Assembly, Sooronbay Jeenbekov will also deliver a video message at the Biodiversity Summit on Sept. 30 this year. Due to the coronavirus pandemic and current quarantine restrictions in UN member states and New York City, all High-Level Week events are held online this year.
