Jaafari Denies Any Agreement With Turkey Regarding Entry Troops To Iraq

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari denied the existence of any agreement with Turkey regarding the entry of troops to Iraq. He said in a news conference at the parliament building today that "what is exist is a memo record between the two parties when Foreign Minister was Tariq Aziz in 1983 and annulled by Parliament in 2009". Jaafari added that " We are committed to our adherence to the relationship between the two countries and stick to reject the violation of sovereignty, referring that Iraq welcomes any mediation (American or other) to end the violation of sovereignty.". He explained that Turkish Foreign Minister Mouloud Ihsanoglu told him through, a telephone call, that his country will not send new troops and he answered that Iraq wants an immediate withdrawal of troops there, and when the Turkish delegation came to Baghdad we repeated what we said and they expressed their initial approval on it, but the President Erdogan's position to reject the withdrawal worsening situation more.
