Italy condemns terror blasts, calls for their rejection by all

Manama, Dec. 10 (BNA): Italy has condemned the twin blasts that killed two people in Bahrain and called for the rejection of violence by all segments of the Bahraini society. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Italy’s Ambassador to Bahrain Alberto Vecchi deplored the “criminal” blasts and offered his condolences to the bereaved families. “I strongly condemn the criminal bombings in Demistan and Karzakkan that led to the death of a police officer and a civilian, and I wish to extend my most sincere condolences to the families of the victims,” Ambassador Vecchi said in his statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA). “Italy reckons that the only way to achieve peace and stability is through the unwavering pursuit of a national reconciliation in the path of an effective and sustainable reform process. Such acts of terrorist violence undermine all the efforts to overcome the social and political tensions in the country and should be strongly, clearly and unequivocally rejected by all representatives of the different parts of the Bahraini society,” the ambassador said.
