ITALIAN FM FRATTINI WORRIED OVER COURSE OF TURKISH-ISRAELI RELATIONS

ROME (A.A) - 05.07.2010 - Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini expressed concern over the course of Turkish Israeli relations.
Frattini told reporters Monday that hearing talk over possibility of relations between the two countries breaking made him worry.
Responding to a question on the tension between the Turkey and Israel, over the flotilla attack which killed 9 Turks, Frattini said it was best to try to understand what happened and look at the future. He said talking about the possibility of breaking of relations only made the situation worse.
Fratttini said they supported the Israeli investigation into the raid on Mavi Marmara, adding that it was best to wait for the results of this investigation.
He said the investigation was carried out by international experts including a nobel laureate.
Frattini also said EU Foreign Ministers were getting ready to pay a visit to Gaza.
Relations between Turkey and Israel saw a heavy blow after Israeli commandos raided late May a Gaza-bound aid flotilla and killed eight Turkish nationals and a U.S. citizen of Turkish descent.
