IT Taskforce drafts recommendations

Manama, Nov.29 (BNA): A taskforce in charge of reducing the IT recurrent expenditure has drawn up its recommendations on rationalising spending. Taskforce Chief Mohammed Ali Al-Qaid said that the final report would be submitted to the ministerial committee for financial affairs the rationalization of spending early next month.
"The recommendations were based on the financial data which were collected by the team", he said, pointing out that the focus was particularly on IT and telecommunications projects and Government services, which have a direct impact on spending reduction, in addition to the e-Government infrastructure schemes.
The IT Taskforce was set up, along with five other expenditure-reduction teams, at the directives of the Executive Committee, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
