Irkeshtam checkpoint on Kyrgyz-Chinese border temporarily closed

Bishkek, May 24, 2022. / Kabar /. The passage of vehicles and goods through the Irkeshtam checkpoint located on the Kyrgyz-Chinese section of the state border has been temporarily suspended. The press service of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic said that this is due to heavy rainfall in the territory of the People's Republic of China. The Chinese side reported that due to past mudflows, certain sections of roads were washed out, bridges were destroyed. Information about the resumption of the operation of checkpoints will be provided additionally. The Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic calls on drivers and cargo carriers to take into account the above circumstances when planning trips.
