Iraqi Speaker praises royal reforms

Manama, May 19 (BNA): Iraqi Parliament Speaker Dr. Saleem Al-Jabouri hailed the achievements and gains made under the wise leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, stressing the royal reform project as the right way for a bright future for the Kingdom of Bahrain and its people. Dr. Al-Jabouri highlighted Iraq's support for Bahrain and the region's countries for maintaining security and stability, moving forwards towards comprehensive development process, boosting national unity and rejecting terrorist acts and interfering in internal affairs. He underlined reinforcing bilateral parliamentary cooperation and encountering attempts aimed at damaging Bahraini-Iraqi distinguished historical relations. This came prior to the departure of Iraq's parliamentary delegation, following conducting a successful visit, during which parliamentary talks were held with Shura and Council of Representatives focused on promoting cooperation and bolstering trade exchange in the interest of the two countries. Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed Al-Mulla stressed Bahrain 's resolve to enhance historical relations and cooperation with Iraq for the benefit of the two countries. He noted Bahrain's supportive stance toward maintaining Iraq's security, stability and sovereignty, asserting Bahrain's rejection to interfering in states' internal affairs and respecting their independence. The parliamentary meetings have witnessed the establishment of a joint parliamentary friendship committee, discussed parliamentary cooperation and means of fighting terrorist groups supported by foreign parties aim to sow sedition and division among nations and people.
