Iraqi parliamentary delegation to visit Bahrain Sunday

Manama, May 15 (BNA): A high-level Iraqi parliamentary delegation, led by Speaker of the Council of Representatives Dr. Salim Al-Jabouri, will arrive here on Sunday. Commenting on the visit, Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla affirmed the solid Bahraini-Iraqi relations, and reiterated the kingdom's firm stance in support of Iraq's security, stability and territorial integrity. He called for the need to strengthen bilateral parliamentary cooperation and re-affirm respect for each country's sovereignty, independence and non-interference in internal affairs. According to a statement issued by the Council of Representatives today, Speaker and MPs will hold talks with the Iraqi delegation on ways to enhance Bahraini-Iraqi relations, and consolidate joint parliamentary cooperation and coordination. The Iraqi parliamentary delegation will also meet the Shura Council Chairman, ministers and officials, and visit a number of economic establishments. It is to be noted Speaker Ahmed Al-Mulla met here last week the Iraqi Ambassador to Bahrain Ahmed Al-Dulaimi and affirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations. He discussed with the envoy supporting joint economic projects, and stepping up parliamentary cooperation to be able to address the challenges facing the region. The ambassador lauded the key role played by Al-Mulla in consolidating joint interests.
