Iraqi House Speaker Meets With U.S Secretary of State

BAGHDAD / NINA / Iraqi House Speaker, Osama al-Nujaifi discussed with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry issues of common concern and ways to strengthen bilateral relations in the light of the strategic relations between the two countries . The two sides discussed developments in security and political situation in Iraq, especially in Anbar crisis, statement for Nujaifi's office said . The two sides agreed on the importance of giving the opportunity for political solutions and rely on dialogue to overcome the crisis , stressing the legality of continuing the war against terrorism to eliminate it while taking into consideration the need to distinguish between Al Qaeda and the legitimate demands of the people of Anbar . It is mentioned that Nujaifi arrived in Washington , on Monday , accompanied by a number of MPs on an official visit to the United States take several days . / End
