Iraqi Foreign Minister Meets British Minister

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari confirmed that: "Iraq's foreign policy is based on openness to various countries around the world through the activation of common interests and face common dangers for the serve of all peoples." A statement for the Foreign Ministry quoted Jaafari as saying, during a meeting in his office in Baghdad with the Minister of the British government policies, Oliver Leyton: "The official visits of the president, ministers and delegations, in addition of the actor presence of Iraq in international conferences, are evidences of the development and success of Iraq in its foreign relations." He added: "The global threat faced by Iraq of the terrorist gangs of Daash requires all countries of the world to back its side in the face of terrorists who came from more than / 80 / states." He pointed out: "Daash is working to expand its presence in many cities in the world, through attracting terrorists from various countries, which makes everyone in front of the responsibility of real international cooperation to eliminate it and turn the page of wars and terrorism, and cooperate for peace, security and stability in the world." For his part, the British minister stressed his country's support for Iraq in its war against terrorism, pointing to the importance of coordination and joint action to eliminate this global menace. The statement noted that the meeting also discussed the bilateral relations and ways to enhance the prospects of cooperation and the international efforts to support Iraq in its war against Daash terrorist gangs and the events throughout the region and the world. / End
