Iraq, Turkey Discuss Boosting Agricultural Cooperation

BAGHDAD, IRAQ (NINA) - The technical undersecretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Mehdi Mohammad al-Qaisi discussed, at the ministry's headquarters, with the Turkish Consul General Hassan Kukaswe enhancing prospects for agricultural cooperation between the two friendly countries. "The Iraqi government, represented by the Ministry of Agriculture, is keen to strengthen the joint cooperation of the agricultural sector, both vegetable and animal, which has become a cornerstone of the national economy and also confirmed the need to develop this vital activity," Qaisi said during the meeting, according to Ministry's statement. For his part, the Turkish Consul General stressed during the meeting "the readiness of the Turkish government to develop agricultural relations and communication in order to serve the common interests between the two countries."/ End
