Iraq, Iran Emphasize Promoting And Developing Economic, Trade And Investment Relations And Increase Volume Of Trade Exchange

Baghdad, Iraq (NINA0 - Iraqi planning Minister, (Acting Trade Minister) Salman Al-Jumaili discussed with Iranian Trade and Industry Minister Mohammed Shariati the promotion and development of economic, trade and investment relations and increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two sides. "Iran is a great political and commercial partner for Iraq," Jumaili told a press conference after the meeting. "The Iranian-Iraqi relations are distinct, indicating there is cooperation in many fields between the two sides," he added. He explained that the meeting included many discussions with ministries and various Iraqi parties to complete many files related to trade and specifications and also in the field of energy, electricity, oil, industry and all other areas. He continued "There is no doubt that Iran has played a major role in supporting the political process in Iraq as well as in partnership in various fields, both energy and electricity and trade and economic partnership," added "These relations are part of the status enjoyed by Iraq in its regional and international environment. The minister pointed out that this year Iraq witnessed a great openness to trade relations with all countries of the world, pointing out that Iraq can play a very large role through the network of relations and interests with neighboring countries to calm the region and the spirit of cooperation and stability instead of the spirit of war, which exhausted the region, expressed hoped that the visit would be successful in bringing these relations to a better level. For his part, Shariati said that "this visit was a prelude to the visit of the First Vice President of the Republic of Iran to Iraq that the two countries have important strategic relations, indicating that the meeting of the First Vice President of the Iranian Republic with the Prime Minister will be important by all standards for all parts of the region./ End
