Iraq Embassy In Baku Celebrates The 30th Anniversary Of The Establishment Of Iraqi-Azerbaijani Diplomatic Relations

Baghdad / NINA / - The Iraqi embassy in Baku organized a celebration marking the thirty-year anniversary of the establishment of Iraqi-Azerbaijani diplomatic relations, in the hall of the embassy building, in the presence of the head of the Government Protocol Department, representing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ramil Rzayev. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the ceremony was also attended by the head of the Iraqi-Azerbaijani Friendship Committee in the Azerbaijani People's Assembly, Elham Mamdov, ambassadors of Arab countries accredited to Baku, diplomatic, political and academic figures, and Iraqi and local media channels to cover this occasion. Chargé d'Affairs, Makki Raysan Al-Maamouri, affirmed in his speech, Iraq's pride in this long history of friendship and cooperation with Azerbaijan, as Iraq was at the forefront of countries that recognized the state of Azerbaijan after its independence on March 28, 1992, indicating that the diplomatic relations between Iraq and Azerbaijan are a culmination of the history and values between the two countries. The Chargé d'Affairs praised the position of the Azerbaijani government in support of the Iraqi government in combating terrorism, noting that both countries are looking forward to increasing cooperation in all sectors and increasing the volume of trade exchange, stressing the importance of Iraqi-Azerbaijani coordination in many regional issues.
