Iraq Asks UN Security Council To Hold an Emergency Session to Discuss The Turkish Violation on Iraqi Territory

BAGHDAD / NINA / Foreign Ministry submitted a request for an emergency UN Security Council session to discuss the Turkish overtaking on Iraqi territory and interfering in its internal affairs.
The official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed Jamal said in a statement today: The Permanent Representative of Iraq, UN Ambassador Mohammed Ali Hakim made a formal request to the current President of the Security Council, Vitaly Churkin to convene an emergency meeting of the Council to discuss the overtaking and interventions of the Turkish side, which it renewed the continued presence of infiltrating Turkish troops inside Iraq.

He continued that the application contains the need to intensify international efforts to support Iraq in its war against the terrorist gangs (Daesh), especially with the imminent launch of the operations to liberate the city of Mosul.
