Iraq and Kuwait Affirm The Importance Of Encouraging Investments, Facilitating Visas And Cooperation In Economic And Trade Fields

Baghdad, (NINA) – Prime Minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi received the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday at the head of a large ministerial delegation. Prime Minister's media office said, "The meeting, which was held in the presence of the two official delegations, dealt with the development of the Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations and the opportunities for cooperation between the two countries and the activation of the free trade zone." The atmosphere of friendship, frankness, understanding and exchange of views on various issues prevailed the meeting." The Prime Minister welcomed the Kuwaiti Amir and his accompanying delegation. Saying "We are honored to welcome you to your country and your brothers. We have extensive ties and we have experienced many difficulties and we have stood together against them and we have defeated them." Added "This visit is an opportunity to develop bilateral relations for the better, and we are hopeful in the future of Iraqi-Kuwaiti relations," Abdul Mahdi praised "the positions and wisdom and moderation of the Amir of Kuwait in all circumstances," pointing to his visit to the State of Kuwait and fruitful meetings held by ministers and cooperation files that were discussed and the importance of completing them in Baghdad and activate cooperation agreements, encouraging investments, facilitating visas and cooperation in economic and trade fields for the benefit of both countries. He added that Iraq has faced difficulties but successfully surpassed them and went an important stage in strengthening its international standing, which is now a partner in solutions after it was mentioned in the crises, and its economy is recovering and the country is witnessing security and stability thanks to our armed forces and security apparatuses and the sacrifices of our people. The Amir expressed his thanks and appreciation for the good reception he received and the delegation accompanying him, stressing that his visit today comes after the visit of the Prime Minister of Kuwait and to strength bilateral relations. He said: I want to see Iraq develop and flourish and keen on Iraq as my country, and I wish further development to our relations. Added "there are many things that we agree upon and which are still to be resolved during the talks of the two ministerial delegations and follow-up implementation through the joint committees, praising the directions of the Iraqi government and its balanced policy and its positive deal with the regional crises./ End
