IRAN DEVELOPS TIES WITH TURKEY BASED ON BROTHERHOOD AND FRIENDSHIP, RAHIMI

TEHRAN (A.A) - 25.05.2010 - Iranian Vice-President Muhammad Riza Rahimi said Tuesday Iran developed ties with Turkey based on brotherhood and friendship.
According to a statement issued by the Iranian Presidential Press Center, Rahimi evaluated Turkey-Iran relations while receiving Turkish Ambassador in Tehran Umit Yardim.
The interests of Turkey and Iran are not different from each other, Rahimi said.
It is crucial for the two countries to further develop relations, Rahimi said.
All conditions and opportunities are ready for Turkey and Iran to have closer cooperation, Rahimi said.
I hope that Turkey and Iran would reach a trade volume of 30 billion USD. There are many things we could do when it comes to customs, border, joint industrial sites, transportation and commerce, Rahimi said.
Iran does not see its interests as different than those of Turkey, Rahimi underlined.
Ambassador Umit Yardim, in his part, said that there was a potential for Turkey and Iran to boost commercial relations.
Economic and commercial cooperation may play a vital role in the development of Turkey and Iran, Yardim said.
We must speed up joint projects and are determined to increase the trade volume between Turkey and Iran, Yardim also said.
