Iran’s Qazvin province foresees $1 billion in exports to Russia

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug.26/ Trend F.Milad/ Iran's Qazvin province has set the target of exporting as much as $1 billion worth of goods to Russia by March 2016, the deputy governor general of the province Majid Naderi said. Majid Naderi, heading a 28-member delegation of merchants and exporters from the province, met with Iranian ambassador to Russia on Friday. The Mehr News Agency quoted Naderi as saying that the delegation was comprised of exporters of dried fruits, car parts, foodstuff, and textile. Qazvin province is well-known for its tile and ceramic, glass, detergent, steel, dried fruits, and car parts industries. In January, Iran and Russia started using their domestic rial and rouble currencies in bilateral trade instead of the U.S. dollar. "(Trade) is based on our national currencies," Iranian ambassador to Russia Mahmoud-Reza Sajjadi said. "We started this work long ago. Iranian businessmen are buying products in Russia and are using the rouble as (payment) currency ... The U.S. dollar has no (economic) support base," he said. Do you have any feedback?
