Interior Ministry Undersecretary receives NIHR Officials

Manama, Sept. 21 (BNA): Interior Ministry Undersecretary Major-General Khalid Al Absi received today Deputy Chairman of the Council of Commissioners of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR) Abdullah Al-Derazi and Chairperson of the Complaints, Monitoring and Follow-up Committee Maria Khoury, in the presence of the Acting Director General of the Reformation and Rehabilitation Directorate Colonel Ghazi Saleh Al Sinan and officers. The Undersecretary welcomed the guests, hailing the role of NIHR in promoting the human rights culture as part of the reform project of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The meeting spotlighted topics of common interest that could enhance cooperation and coordination between the Interior Ministry and the institution. Al-Derazi lauded the Interior Ministry's development programmes to boost human rights and care for inmates and detainees and its cooperation with NIHR in this respect. A O Q
