Interior Minister sets up a panel to investigate into detainees' escape

Manama, Apr. 21. (BNA) -- In response to the escape of two detainees from the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre in "Jaw Prison", the Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today The panel shall investigate into the prisoners' escape from the detention centre, determine those behind it and take the necessary legal actions and identify the security and legal shortcomings in order to upgrade them according to the law. The panel will also assess the personnel's level at the prison to ensure they meet the standards. The Interior Minister also ordered the transfer of the Director of the Reformation and Rehabilitation to the Public Security Directorate and appointed an officer as an Acting Director. The Reformation and Rehabilitation Directorate will also be affiliated with the Interior Ministry's Undersecretary. W H Q
