Interior minister meets governors

Manama, Sept. 9 (BNA): Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today helda meeting with the four governors, in the presence of the General Coordinator of the Governorates. The meeting included revision of the governorate law and the responsibilities in meeting the requirements of the public. The session focused on governorates-related topics and means to reinforce cooperation with concerned ministries and organisations to provide better services. The minister asserted the importance to promote the supervision role of governors in planning and implementing service projects in coordination with bodies concerned. He said that the law of governorates provides this supervision role to governors to learn and provide the needs of citizens to promote community partnership approach. Governors highlighted a number of topics related to the development of services provided to the public, field visits and role of the governorates in protection of places of worship in coordination with concerned bodies. The meeting also discussed the role of the coordination councils in studying problems and refering reports and recommendations in coordination with ministries and organizations to provide better services.
