Inmates products, handicrafts exhibition opened

Manama, Dec 21 (BNA): Capital Governor Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa has opened the inmates products and handicrafts exhibition, on the sidelines of the "Fourth GCC Inmates Week " entitled "Together to achieve reform," which is held in the GCC countries on 20-24 December 2015. Interior Undersecretary Maj-Gen Khalid Al-Absi and Nawaf Al-Ma'awda of Ombudsman Office were present. The exhibition included a collection of inmates' works of handicrafts, decoration, carpentry and furnishings. He lauded the efforts of the Interior Ministry in the field of rehabilitation of inmates and the development of plans and programs aimed at getting them involved in activities to benefit from and to gain new experiences in preparation for reintegrating them into the community. He added that given the inmates the opportunity to bring out their aptitude and honing their skills will strengthen their sense of responsibility and self-reliance, which will be positively reflected in their access to jobs after serving their times and thus leading to attaining community partnership.
