Information Minister salutes security, military servicemen

Manama, Dec. 17 (BNA): Information and Parliament Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi has saluted and paid homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of maintaining Bahrain’s security and stability, preserving national unity, as well as civilisational and historical identity and defending the right, legitimacy and values of justice and peace. The minister described His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s directives to hold an annual Commemoration Day on December 17 as a kind humanitarian gesture that set the best example in honouring the dedication and patriotism of those who made sacrifices while defending Bahrain’s pride, dignity and security, and supporting regional peace, stability and prosperity. Al-Hammadi expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the brave Bahraini security and military servicemen for their dedication in performing the national duties to safeguard national security and stability and protect citizens’ lives and property, as well as for their genuine honourable stances in support of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and Arab security. Holding a national ceremony to mark the Commemoration Day is a noble gesture embodying the values of loyalty and belonging to the nation, cohesion between the people and the leadership and the national consensus on the need to honour and remember those who sacrificed their lives, and show solidarity with their families, he said. It is also a message of pride to the coming generations that Bahrain never forgets the sacrifices of its citizens in all fields of honour and valor, he added. The minister reiterated the media's commitments to highlighting the noble and lofty values of such national occasion through promoting the senses of citizenship and belonging to the nation and stressing the unity, solidarity and cohesion of the members of the Bahraini society, as well as their pride in the sacrifices made by the security and military personnel throughout the kingdom’s history.
