Information Minister receives VIVA Bahrain CEO

Manama, May 9 (BNA): Information Affairs Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al Hammadi lauded Bahrain’s advanced status and pioneering achievements in Information Technology (IT) and telecommunication. Speaking at a meeting with Chief Executive of VIVA Bahrain Alyan Al-Watid, he praised the kingdom’s modern telecommunication and IT infrastructure and its role in developing the media sector and building a knowledge-based community. He also reviewed ways of boosting cooperation with VIVA Bahrain to further upgrade the telecommunication and IT infrastructure and exchange technical experiences. He discussed available opportunities for the company and the public sector to avail of the Information Affairs Authority’s media channels to promote their products and services via radio and television programmes. The Information Minister also commended the efforts of the national telecommunication companies to optimise their services at competitive prices in an open and free economic climate so as to serve economic and social goals.
