Information Minister receives Kuwait delegation

Manama, June 9 (BNA): Information Minister Isa bin Abdulrahman Al-Hammadi received today a delegation from Kuwaiti Gulfsat Communications company led by Board Chairman and Chief Executive Mohammed Al-Haj. Officials and media persons from the company and its Marina FM radio also attended. The minister reviewed with the delegation ways of bolstering cooperation and exchanging technical experiences in telecommunication and media transmission. He lauded the company's achievements in providing telecommunication services via satellites. He also commended the valuable social and recreational programmes provided by Marina FM over a decade which earned it a great reputation in the region and the Arab world. The minister pointed out the interest in developing Bahrain radio and television channels by outfitting them with state-of-the-art equipment and technical experiences, grooming youngsters and equipping them with various media skills, boosting interaction with the public, upgrading legislations to spur private investments in the media and communication field. Gulfsat Communications Board Chairman and Chief Executive praised Bahrain's accomplishments in the media, telecommunication and Information Technology field and the favourable investment climate promoted by political stability and economic openness.
