Industry and Commerce Minister receives UNIDO delegation
Manama, Apr. 23. (BNA) Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro commended the efforts and outstanding initiatives of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) in Bahrain, as well as its cooperation and coordination with the Government of Bahrain, in general, and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, in particular, through providing the needed support for the industrial sector's various projects and programmes.
This came as he received UNIDO's Director of Business, Investment and Technology Service Branch and Representative of General Manger of UNIDO in Vienna Dr. Mohamed Lamine Dhaoui, Senior Advisor to the Deputy to the Director General of UNIDO Frank L. Bartels and Founder and President at Ebtikar Association, for innovation development Osama Al Khajah in the presence of Head of the UNIDO Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDO-ITPO) Dr. Hashim Hussain.
The Minister expressed appreciation for the efforts made by UNIDO in cooperation and coordination with Ministry’s programmes in enhancing small enterprises in Bahrain, highlighting the support these enterprises receive from the leadership, the government and the Ministry that heads the supreme committee to follow-up the work and conditions of small enterprises.
He lauded the training programmes conducted by UNIDO in Bahrain and oversees Bahraini model for entrepreneurship which became international, thanks to the efforts undertaken by UNIDO, highlighting the importance of this training model and its role in the graduation of large batches of young entrepreneurs and the development of investment projects of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in many countries of the world.
Dr. Dhaoui and Dr. Hussain valued highly the efforts made by the Ministry in creating and preparing young national cadres and training them in the field of small and medium industries and investing in this sector.
