Indonesia To Participate In 54 International Tourism Exhibitions
JAKARTA, March 17 (Antara) - Indonesia will participate in 54 tourism hard selling events abroad through 30 exhibitions and 24 sales missions in 2017, Deputy Foreign Tourism Development at the Ministry of Tourism, I Gde Pitana, said here on Thursday.
This year, the ministry is focusing on hard selling events and cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
"Since the last two years, we have been building a national branding of Wonderful Indonesia. This year, we are focusing on hard selling events and establishing cooperation with airlines and wholesalers," he stated.
Pitana explained that in order to target the Asia-Pacific region markets, such as China, Australia, Japan, Korea, and India, the ministry is conducting hard selling and sales mission events.
So far, the ministry has participated in the exhibition in the Asia-Pacific, namely Satte Delhi (India); AIME Melbourne (Australia), and OTM Mumbai (India) in Feb 2017, while it participated in exhibition IT & CM Shanghai (China) from March 21-23, 2017.
The same efforts of hard selling and sales mission will also be conducted to target the European, the Middle East, American, and African market.
"Recently, we have participated in the International Tourism in Berlin from March 8 to 12, 2017. We recorded success as the Best Exhibitor 2017 at the largest tourism exhibition in the world. We thank you for all the support rendered," he noted.
The event was preceded by a series of sales missions in three cities in three Western European countries, namely Amsterdam, Paris, and Munich from March 1-3, 2017.
"The events maximize our efforts to target the European market," he noted, adding that from March 14-17, 2017, Indonesia will also participate in the Global Seatrade Cruise in Miami, USA.
Meanwhile, Indonesia will participate in a number of exhibitions until Nov 2017 to target the European, the Middle East, American and African markets.
Among the 21 international exhibitions are ITB Berlin, WTM London, and ATM Dubai.
