INDIAN GOVERNMENT TO RENDER FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO ARKHANGAI AIMAG

Arkhangai /MONTSAME/ The State Emergency Commission led by Deputy Prime Minister U.Enkhtuvshin worked in Arkhangai aimag last week. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Mongolia Suresh Babu accompanied the State Emergency Commission and met Governor of the aimag Ts.Munkhnasan. During the meeting, the Ambassador reported that the Government of India is to render financial support worth MNT 20 million for flood relief effort and urgent reconstruction activities. In addition, he informed that 10 English language teachers from the aimag will be involved in re-training course free of charge. Last month's flash flood caused by heavy rain and hailstorm damaged 16 homes and winter camps of two families, killing 147 livestock in Khashaat soum. Moreover, the flood hit 82 families in Undur-Ulaan soum, destroying 200 fences and roofs of 11 buildings of entities and organizations. Therefore, a total of 42 gers were distributed from the state reserve to flood-affected two soums in accordance with the decision of the State Emergency Commission.
