ictQATAR to Host QITCOM 2012 Conference & Exhibition Next March
Doha, November 28 (QNA) - The Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology of Qatar (ictQATAR) announced that the launch of the second edition of Qatar s only ICT Conference and Exhibition (QITCOM 2012) will be held at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) from March 5-7, 2012.
ictQATAR Market Development Department Manager Ali Al-Khulaifi said that QITCOM aims to link policy-makers, ICT technology providers and the country s large-scale ICT consumers. It is a platform where these groups can meet to discuss the sector and the shaping of technology into end-user services that advance the development of Qatar towards a knowledge-based society.
He noted that the conference is an opportunity to focus on the solutions being developed in Qatar, while also allowing international players to showcase how they are pushing the boundaries of ICT, adding that QITCOM will focus on innovation aligns directly with Qatar s 2015 ICT Strategy.
The three-day conference program will deal with cutting-edge topics within ICT, but will focus on innovative solutions within those topics. The exhibition space will be a destination for local, regional, and international companies to showcase their innovative solutions. The QITCOM exhibition will feature an ICT Startups booth, the popular Innovation theatre, which will include multiple business plan competitions and creative business concepts this year, as well as the "Out Of The Labs Zone," which will be a platform for the ICT industry to showcase its latest innovations and launch innovative products.
QITCOM 2011 attracted globally recognized speakers, including Guy Kawasaki, Former Chief Evangelist at Apple and Co-Founder of Alltop.com. The three-day conference also attracted policy-makers, experts and thought leaders from across the world who discussed cutting-edge trends, policy initiatives and solutions to challenges being faced by the region s ICT sector.
Almost 85 international speakers, 115 exhibitors, 17 partners, and 20 local and international sponsors took part in the inaugural edition of QITCOM. The exhibition drew a crowd of more than 10,000 visitors, with the conference attracting almost 1,500 delegates. (QNA)
