Human Rights Calls On The Govt To Submit A Proposal To The Arab League To Conclude An Agreement To Protect Forcibly Displaced

Baghdad / NINA /- A member of the Human Rights Commission, Fadel Al-Gharawi called on the government to submit a proposal to the Arab League for the conclusion of an Arab agreement to protect the forcibly displaced.
"The humanitarian conditions of the displaced and their exposure to thousands of violations requires for the urgent need to conclude an agreement to enhance their rights and protect them," it said in a statement, which the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA) received a copy of it.
Al-Gharawi added, "There is no international agreement to protect the displaced, and there are guidelines to protect the displaced, and they are not binding on states."
He called on the government to "submit a proposal to the League of Arab States to conclude an Arab agreement to protect the forcibly displaced and to put in place all protection frameworks to preserve their rights." / End
