"HRH Prime Minister ITU Award well-deserved"

Manama, Sept. 16 (BNA): Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed has praised the International Telecommunications Union’s recognition of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa as one of the prominent global thought leaders in the field of information and communications technologies development, with the award for Sustainable Development in ICT. "This award testifies to His Royal Highness’ long-standing support to the development of the ICT sector, with his continuous interest in ensuring that the foundations of technological development are in place across the Government sector, to serve as the fundamentals for a technological and scientific revolution that will form the crux of sustainable progress and development." The minister added that HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister’s vision has been paramount in positioning the Kingdom of Bahrain amongst top regional and international rankings, and the Award for Sustainable Development in ICT is an acknowledgement by the global ICT industry, as represented by the ITU at its 50th Anniversary commemoration, of HRH visionary achievements in leading the Kingdom’s ICT development throughout its varying stages, which have resulted in Bahrain’s high rankings amongst the global community. The Award for Sustainable Development in ICT will be presented to HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister at the ITU’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, to be at the UN Headquarters in New York on September 26, 2015.
