HRH Premier: Regional events require stronger executive-legislative cooperation

Manama, Oct. 12 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that Bahrain has attained landmark achievements in many fields thanks to its solid development basis, stressing that national efforts to enhance the national progress march and bring about more gains to maintain Bahrain's leading status will continue unwavering. HRH the Prime Minister made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of senior state officials. The Kingdom is on the threshold of a new phase of national action based on stronger cooperation between the Executive and the Legislature, stressing that such cooperation have proven its feasibility, given the fruitful outcomes it has yielded, HRH Premier said. HRH Premier highlighted the "crucial and pivotal" role played by the Representatives and Shura councils in the kingdom's political process, stressing its role in enhancing the democratic practices through exercising its legislative and monitoring roles. He pointed out that the regional developments and their economic and security impacts on the kingdom should stimulate more coordination and cooperation between the Executive and Legislative branches in order to overcome them and reduce their effects on the national development march aiming primarily at upgrading the citizens' living standards.
