HRH Premier receives Russian President's Special Representative

Manama, Apr. 15. (BNA) – His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has highlighted the importance of stepping up Bahraini-Russian cooperation politically and economically through taking advantage of the two countries's positive and stimulating atmospheres, particularly in the economic and investment fields whose way had already been paved by the existing joint agreements. HRH Premier voiced the kingdom's appreciation of the stances of Russia, led by President Vladimir Putin, in support of GCC issues, and its keenness to ensure permanent stability in the region, being crucial to the global economic and political system. He also praised Russia's unwavering commitment to supporting its friends and allies. This came as HRH Premier received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Personal Representative of the Russian President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gazprom Company Viktor Zubkov. The Prime Minister requested Mr. Zubkov to convey greetings to the Russian President, and the kingdom's appreciation of his supportive stances towards it in various international gatherings. HRH Premier discussed with the Russian President's Personal Representative ways of activating Bahraini-Russian cooperation in the fields of air transport, urban development, energy and gas. They also reviewed activating bilateral cooperation in industrial, banking and financial fields, calling for the need to take advantage of the incentives provided by the two countries to enhance investment and economic collaboration. HRH Premier stressed the importance of activating the existing bilateral cooperation agreements, signing new ones and launching joint investment projects. He affirmed the kingdom's desire to boost bilateral cultural and tourism cooperation through exchanging the visits of tourism delegations and officials, and launching joint projects in this regard. The Russian President's Personal Representative praised the great successes achieved by the government, led by HRH Premier, in the development and reform fields.
