HRH Premier receives MPs, senior officials

Manama, Feb. 1 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has stressed that in today’s sophisticated world, inter-state relations are determined by interests, which requires Arab countries to deepen their relations and adopt initiatives that bring Arabs together and enhance Arab unity. The Prime Minister urged GCC and Arab media to take advantage of the prevailing atmosphere of freedom and democracy to take the initiative in dealing with the rapidly unfolding events by conducting in-depth analyses and expressing opinions that enlighten the public and raise its awareness on the dangers and challenges facing the surrounding region ; not just take a responsive role. HRH Premier made the statements while receiving at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani and senior state officials. HRH Premier asserted that Bahrainis are known for their long-standing commitments to consultation and understanding as their means to serve their common aspirations of achieving their top national goals. He voiced pride in the kingdom’s status as an advanced democratic model that has succeeded in laying the foundation for a solid executive-legislature cooperation to serve national interests. "The Bahraini society is aware enough to understand the critical conditions and serious security and economic challenges the region is currently going through," he said, stressing that the citizens’ stances, which have preserved the nation’s unity and cohesion, provide strong evidence of the Bahraini people’s loyalty and dedication in serving the homeland. The Premier affirmed the government’s unwavering efforts to support the private sector and create suitable investment and trade atmosphere that can attract more investments and generate new job opportunities for the citizens through providing more facilities and adopting procedures and legislation that spur growth. The government’s approach is based on openness, listening to all visions and opinions of economic and social functions on ways to consolidate development efforts and resolving any potential obstacles that may face our endeavours to achieve our ambitious development goals, he said. HRH the Prime Minister affirmed that the freedom of expression guaranteed in Bahrain allows everyone to exchange their points of view freely and openly, lauding the role played by the Press, media and columnists in enhancing the national action march and directing society towards everything that serve its interests, standards of living and stability.
