HRH Premier opens "Dragon City"

Manama, Dec. 27 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that the Diyar Al-Muharraq's Dragon City is the fruitful outcome of the outstanding Bahraini-Chinese relations, and the result of Bahrain's prestigious reputation as a country with a successful investment atmosphere.
HRH Premier was speaking as he patronised the opening ceremony of the Chinese "Dragon" City in Diyar Al-Muharraq.
HRH Premier cut the ribbons and officially opened the mega project, which was built by Diyar Al Muharraq on a total land area of 115,000 square metres at a total cost of $100 million. It includes more than 360 wholesale and retail stores.
A documentary film highlighting HRH Premier's support to the investment process in the kingdom and keenness to motivate the private sector to have its ample share in the investment activities in the kingdom was screened.
Then, HRH the Prime Minister toured the "City", and was informed about its stores and shopping areas that meet the needs of the domestic and GCC market. He expressed admiration of the project, and wished it every success.
HRH Premier stressed that the inauguration of more mega investment projects in the kingdom reflects the investors' confidence in the strength of the Bahraini economy.
Such projects also consolidate the kingdom's competitive potentials in attracting more capitals, which supports the government's strategy aiming to diversify sources of income, HRH Premier added.
Chairman of Diyar Al Muharraq, Mr. Abdulhakeem Alkhayyat expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister for patronising of the official inauguration of Dragon City.
He lauded the Premier's constant support to development projects in the kingdom, and directives to provide more facilities to the private sector in order to launch projects that stimulate the national economy to achieve higher growth rates.
About Dragon City:
At a total cost of $100 million, Dragon City is spread over a total land area of 115,000 square meters with a built up area of 56,000 square meters. It is the first of its kind development in Bahrain, which will offer unique wholesale and retail opportunities to local consumers, trade customers and tourists. Dragon City encompasses Dragon Mall and a themed "Dining Village".
The Mall design is influenced with Chinese architectural and cultural aspects incorporating over 360 commercial units for both retail & wholesale trade, and additionally a 4,500 square meter area designated for warehouses and a car park large enough to accommodate 1,500 cars.
