Manama, Aug.14 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received a cable of congratulations from Thai Ambassador to Bahrain Vichai Varasirikul on winning the Information and Communication Technology in Sustainable Development Award, from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). Here is the text of the cable: Your Royal Highness, Upon learning of the news that Your Royal Highness will receive an award from the prestigious International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for your outstanding contribution toward achieving sustainable development goals and expediting Bahrain's development of information technology and telecommunication, I humbly wish to congratulate Your Royal Highness for the recognition Your Royal Highness truly deserves. Your Royal Highness' far-sighted visions and thoughtful policies have been keys to what Bahrain has become – a modernized society with its traditional roots intact. This achievement is even more impressive given changing environments both at the global and regional levels during the time of your governance. Finally, I wish to reiterate that Thailand values its existing cooperation with Bahraini partners and is willing to explore new areas of cooperation at all levels in order to help both countries achieve sustainable development.
