HRH Premier: Executive-legislative partnership to optimise achievements

Manama, Apr. 20 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has called for the need to strengthen partnership among the various elements of national action to ensure that development and openness are used to consolidate the kingdom's leading status in the political, economic and development fields. HRH Premier highlighted the government's continuous efforts to create an atmosphere that paves the way for all Bahrainis, men and women alike, to contribute effectively to the national action march, out of its belief that human resources are the nation's assets and the driving force of its development and progress. HRH the Prime Minister voiced the stances as he received here today a number of MPs and Shura Council members, led by Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh and former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani. HRH Premier asserted that the results of the existing government-parliament partnership indicate that it will lead to more landmark achievements and prosperity for the nation and the citizens, reiterating the government's support for the Representatives Council in assuming its legislative and monitoring roles. "I am always keen on interacting with MPs, as I believe that what is raised by them emanates from the desire of those who elected them. Meetings with MPs and citizens provide an opportunity to direct the path of government programmes towards projects and services that are considered a priority by the citizens," he said. On regional developments, HRH Premier affirmed that countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council exist within a volatile region, which, he said, "requires us, at the domestic level, and as executive and legislative branches, to adopt all initiatives that ensure the reinforcement of security and stability."
