HRH Premier calls for preserving national heritage

Manama, Sept. 13 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has lauded the remarkable success of the kingdom's participation in Expo Milano 2015 in Italy, noting that the huge number of visitors to Bahrain's pavilion reflects its distinguished civilisational image and rich human heritage and multi-faceted achievements. In this regard, he expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa for her efforts in organising and preparing Bahrain's pavilion which, through its creative design, projected to the world the kingdom's progress and people's keenness on extending bridges of communication with various peoples within a framework that enhances rapprochement and understanding among nations. Receiving Royal Family members and senior state officials, HRH the Prime Minister stressed the importance of intensifying participation in similar exhibitions and conferences, given the opportunities they provide to promote Bahrain's status as a leading country regarding development and political, economic and cultural progress. HRH Premier discussed with the audience a number of local and regional issues, and warned of attempts by some sides to tamper with the region's historical and civilisational legacy and erase its memory and human heritage in a bid to obliterate its identity, spread chaos, disperse people and cut their links to their homelands. HRH the Premier underlined the importance of preserving the kingdom's civilisational heritage and developing it in order to highlight its historical role and contributions to Human Civilisation, and project the real image that reflects its civilisation, progress, as well as milestone cultural and heritage achievements. HRH Premier highlighted the role played by Bahraini Majlises in fostering rapprochement and communication among members of society, stressing the need to adhere to deep-rooted Bahraini values and traditions and transfer them to the new generations, owing to their importance in strengthening cohesion and bonds among the citizens.
