HRH Premier: Bahrain will overcome challenges

Manama, Sept. 21 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has affirmed that the region is going through rapidly unfolding economic and political variables, and that Bahrain is not an exception as it is affected by those variables and their impacts. "The Kingdom of Bahrain has gone through multiple challenges and faced them firmly and with unified stances, and despite the existing complicated situation, we are fully confident that we will overcome the repercussions of the current phase through cooperation between the executive and the legislative branches," he said. HRH Premier made the statements as he received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Chairman of the Shura Council Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, MPs and Shura Council members, in the presence of former Speaker Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani and senior state officials. HRH the Prime Minister lauded the crucial role played by Bahraini women in the national action march and their remarkable contributions in the various fields, including the legislative branch. He underlined the government's keen interest in adopting initiatives that contribute to empowering women economically and socially, which, he said, indicates the government's belief in the need to advance women and consolidate their participation is an integral part in its efforts to advance the Bahraini citizens, being the real asset of the nation. HRH Premier asserted that the legislative branch's dealing with the challenges facing the development march reflects the shared responsibility in making the kingdom's present and future and proves the responsible awareness of MPs. HRH the Prime Minister noted that government-parliament cooperation is endless, stressing that through strengthening its cooperation with the legislature, the government enhances popular participation in the decision-making process.
