House Speaker Meets British Ambassador To Baghdad

BAGHDAD / NINA / House Speaker Salim al-Jubouri confirmed the importance of mobilizing international efforts to expedite the completion of the process of liberating Mosul, and providing all kinds of emergency aid needed for relief to the displaced. Jubouri, during a meeting with the British ambassador to Iraq, Frank Baker, discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and developments in the political situation in Iraq and the region, and the two sides also discussed the efforts of the international coalition in the war against Daesh and progress in the battle to liberate Mosul. Jubouri, according to his press office, called on an active and vital role from United Nations and the international community in order to help Iraq's reconstruction, and providing services to the affected areas, stressing the importance of giving the displaced file utmost importance by the government and the international community in order to accommodate the large numbers of displaced as a result of the military operations and through the creation of all the relief supplies to help them to overcome the current crisis. Jubouri praised Britain's role in supporting Iraq on military and humanitarian levels, while British ambassador confirmed his country's keenness to provide all kinds of support to Iraq and at all levels. / End
