HM King's support of Bahraini women's progress hailed

Manama, Dec. 3 (BNA): Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr Abdulhussein Mirza has thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government headed by His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, then Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for their keen interest in Bahraini women's progress and dedicating a day in honour of the Bahraini working women and highlight their achievements. The minister also thanked Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King, and President of the Supreme Council for Women, for her strong guidance to empower women to make significant and tangible achievements in various fields and to give women the opportunity to develop and assume leadership positions in all fields. The Minister thanked and appreciated all employees of the Electricity and Water Authority and the Sustainable Energy Unit for their constructive efforts in the renaissance of modern Bahrain. He said Bahraini women constitute a key component of Bahraini society and have been participating in achievements for the renaissance of Bahrain over the years, especially in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. The minister said that the theme of this year's Women's Day, "Women in the Legislative and Municipal Career" was clearly translated into the final results of the parliamentary and municipal elections, as women won 10 seats, six in the House of Representatives and four in the Municipal Councils. The employees who were honoured expressed their great pleasure and gratitude for this generous gesture and his support and continuous encouragement to Bahraini women in all fields of work. They listened to his directives regarding the development of the work environment and the promotion of more excellence in providing quality and reliable services to citizens and residents.
