HM the King thanked by UNDP administrator

Manama, Nov. 26 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received a letter of thanks from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Administrator Helen Clark for the hospitality and warm welcome accorded to her and her accompanying delegation during their visit to the kingdom. Helen Clark congratulated HM King Hamad on the success of the 11th edition of the Manama Dialogue, describing the event as a platform to reassert the close relationship between peace and development, and the need to grant hope and chances for those suspended in areas of conflict. She also valued highly the kingdom's effective participation in UN's humanitarian work, particularly its efforts, alongside the UN, in combating Ebola. The UNDP Administrator commended the tremendous efforts of HM the King and the Government of Bahrain to implement sustainable development broadly, affirming that Bahrain's hosting of the first regional dialogue on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda in December, in which she is looking forward to participate, reflects the King's continuous leading role in this field. Clark stressed UNDP's commitment to working with the kingdom and supporting its priorities in the field of national development.
