HM King stresses support for Bahraini women

Manama, Dec. 8 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stressed that Bahrain has made big strides and is proud of its national achievements which are obvious in all fields. was speaking as he received at Sakhir Palace today senior guests, keynote speakers and participants in the three-day international conference themed "Women in Public Life: From Policies to Impact", in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). HM the King emphasised Bahrain's commitment to providing every support for Bahraini women to continue their progress of excellence. He described Bahrain's hosting of specialised conferences as an international recognition of the major strides made by Bahrain in women empowerment. He praised the efforts of HRH Princess Sabeeka in this respect, urging to avail of the outcome of all conferences held in Bahrain to boost cooperation with the rest of the world and learn about successful experiences. HM the King commended the key role played by Bahraini women in the kingdom's development process and their ability to prove their worth in various fields. He pledged to continue supporting SCW in its effort to achieve Bahrain's women empowerment vision, lauding the council's contribution to promoting the rights of Bahraini women in cooperation with all institutions. HM the King praised SCW commitment to implementing its strategy and following up on the perpetual improvement in the status of Bahraini women. He stressed that holding the conference in Bahrain is an opportunity to shed light on the big strides made by Bahraini women in all fields. He also congratulated the UAE on electing Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi as chairperson of the legislative council, describing the move as a vivid proof of readiness of the Emirati women to take up leading posts. HM the King wished all the participants in the conference every success in attaining their goals aimed at further empowering women and consolidating their presence side by side with men for a more stable and prosperous world.
