HM King receives UK State Secretary

Manama, Oct.31 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa received at Gudaibiya Palace British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, Philip Hammond on the sidelines of the 11th Manama Dialogue which opened yesterday in Bahrain. He welcomed the participation of the British minister in the regional and international forum and discussed deep-rooted relations and steadily-growing cooperation. He commended the beginning of work on the construction of the British naval forces in the Kingdom of Bahrain, describing the step as stemming from deep-rooted historic relations which date back to more than 200 years. He pointed out that bilateral relations have always been marked by respect, coordination and joint consultation for the good of the two friendly countries and peoples. He hailed the move as reflecting the commitment of the United Kingdom to maintain security and stability in the region. HM the King affirmed Bahrain's keen interest in expanding joint cooperation, reiterating the Kingdom's support to all regional and international efforts to maintain security and stability and consolidate peace in the region. He commended the UK-led role as well as crucial contribution to cementing regional security and stability and championing global peace. HM the King and the British minister discussed the agenda of the 11th Manama Dialogue and exchanged views regarding regional and international developments. Hammond expressed deepest thanks to HM the King, lauding the royal keenness on bolstering bilateral relations. He commended the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting Manama Dialogue 2015 which, he said, contributes to bolstering its standing in regional and international arenas. He hailed the role of Bahrain, led by HM the King, lauding its constructive coordination and cooperation regarding the issues of security, stability and peace in the region.
