HM the King receives UK foreign secretary

Sharm Al-Sheikh, Mar. 13. (BNA) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received at his residence here the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, on the sidelines of Egypt Economic Development, opened here earlier today. HM the King welcomed the UK Foreign Secretary, and reviewed with him the long-standing bilateral relations of friendship and cooperation, and ways to bolster them in various fields to serve joint interests. HM the King affirmed the solid Bahraini-UK relations, growing steadily in all fields, especially the economic, defence and trade ones, highlighting the two kingdoms’ joint keenness to open up new horizons of bilateral cooperation and coordination, in light of the deep historical ties bonding them. HM the King lauded the role played by the United Kingdom, and its contributions, along with allied and friendly countries, in consolidating security and stability in the region, and combating terrorism for the sake of promoting global peace. HM King Hamad discussed with the British Minister the agenda of the Sharm Al-Sheikh economic summit, as well as the latest regional and international developments, and the two countries’ coordination of stances regarding them. Philip Hammond expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to HM the King for his keenness on consolidating relations with his country, lauding the role played by Bahrain, under HM King Hamad’s leadership, and its constructive and fruitful coordination and cooperation regarding issues of regional security, stability and peace.
